NEIL GITTINS
CONCEPTUAL TITLE DESIGN · VISUAL
DEVELOPMENT · CINEMATIC TONE
Design built from story, tone, and emotion.
I help directors and studios define the emotional language of a story, its atmosphere, rhythm, and visual coherence.
My work sits between design and direction: shaping how a world feels before it’s built, and how an audience enters it.
ABOUT
With over 15 years across motion design, animation, and visual development, I’ve designed title sequences, ambient films, and story-driven worlds for projects with Netflix, BBC, and Passion Pictures.
My focus now is conceptual direction, creating title and visual tone systems that express story through light, movement, and composition.
To make emotion visible — and memory inevitable.
In an era of generative speed, I still believe in coherence, restraint, and human rhythm. Tools change; taste endures.

HOW I WORK
Story First — clarify theme, emotion, and audience response.
Tone & Grammar — define the visual and rhythmic language.
Concept & Composition — build tone boards and keyframes that capture feeling.
Direction — guide motion, edit, and light toward coherence and emotional truth.
CORE PRINCIPLES
Emotion defines form.
Design is rhythm and meaning.
Show less, reveal more.
Atmosphere is structure.
Taste is restraint.
Clarity over excess.
Collaboration builds truth.
LET’S TALK
If your project needs:
— a cinematic identity before production.
— a title sequence that feels like memory.
— or a tone film that defines a world.
